I got my hair extensions again! This time I opted for 16inch....

It's a perfect colour and texture match, 100% human hair. I had them sewn in again, incase you don't know what that means, it's when part of the hair is corn rowed (braided) and then the hair weft is sewn onto that. I had mine done at an afro carribean hair salon.

16inch hair weft £23.49
I have 4 rows, each row costs £5.

I always straighten my hair before I go, so that it's easier to work with. However, when it is curled my hair looks much better, I shall be getting my conical wand out tonight :)

Make up wise: Face - BB luminizing foundation, Cheeks - Nars laguna, Albatross & sertao. Eyes - Mac Moon's reflection, club and Vellum, Maybelline greatlash mascara & UD Bourbon 24/7 liner. Lips - nothing.

FOTD and Haul!

Today I went to my mums and opted for a neutral "everyday" look...

I have on BB skin foundation and creamy concealer, Nars Laguna, Sertao blush and Albatross highlight.

On my lips I'm wearing, L'oreal's Cappuccino lipliner, and NYX sweetheart lipgloss.

On my eyes I have on Mac Naked Lunch, Tempting and Coppering e/s. I have blacktrack fluidline and Mac Zoomlash mascara which is now finished. I have so far completed 2 items for project 5 pan! :)

We then decided we were due for a shopping trip, I love going shopping with my mum, it's the best! I got this beautiful jersey coral dress from mango for half price. I plan on wearing it on Friday night, I will be sure to do an outfit post!

We then popped into Accessorize as it was 70% off, my mummy treated me to these lovely bangles...

and this gorgeous necklace....

and these fabulous earrings!

I'm so in love with jewellery! Oooo I'm thinking of getting my sew in hair extensions AGAIN, what do you think? However, not so long, maybe 16 inch instead of 18inch like last time!

Lemon Juice

I just wanted to update you again with project clear skin. I am having more no makeup days and using lemon juice on my face.

Image: Taken by moi in the garden!

How have I been using lemon juice? First of all I only do this in the morning...
  • Washing my face normally with chosen cleanser (lukewarm water)
  • Pat dry
  • Squeezing lemon juice into the palm of my hand and splashing onto face
  • leave on for 5mins
  • Rinsing off with cold water.
  • Pat dry
  • Apply moisturiser *optional

Why did I start using lemon juice? My mother in law recommended I try it as this is the remedy that was passed down to her from her grandmother. She said she suffered with acne at one point in her life and that lemon juice had been her saviour and that she hasn't had to use it since.

I thought I would give it a try seen as it's an inexpensive experiment! I have been doing this for 3 days now and I can see a great difference. Once you apply the lemon juice it stings like hell, well it did on me anyway - I was flapping my hands and jumping up and down but it's worth it - it's not that bad :) don't be scared. Lemon juice contains Alpha-hydroxy Acid (AHA) which kills off dead skin cells and promotes new cell growth.

What is it good for? Acne and scarring. Apparently lemon juice is also good to lighten the skin tone?

Some people use this as a treatment overnight, this will probably be fine for people with oily skin, but my skin is dry and sensitive so 5mins every morning is enough.

What experiences have you had with lemon juice?

New Barry M Nail Paint - Pink Flamingo

You may already know that I am obsessed with corals, pinks and peaches... This new nail paint is a combination of all 3 with a slight milky neon feel to it! It is already available to buy on the Barry M website and available in Superdrug from 5th of August, and the 9th of August in Boots.

It's such a gorgeous and unique colour, perfect for the summer. As soon as I received it I put it on my toes and fell in love, this is definitely my favourite Barry M nail paint and perhaps my favourite amongst other brands too! It's just SO pretty! I am obsessed with it - hence the little collage I did on photoshop with the flamingo's... how gracious of them to present it to you on my blog :) Image of flamingo taken from here.

We made some jam!

This morning me and my mother in law made some jam... to be fair, she made the jam while I watched :)

We picked some raspberry's from the garden, sat them in water for a while... then boiled them and added some sugar! It tastes beautiful!! It's so rewarding to make something yourself...

I then decorated the jars with some fabric...

And added some ribbon and labels... and did this mini photo shoot in the garden!

How cute are they? I love them, I just had to share it with you! I know it's not makeup or fashion related but this kind of decoration and creativity can also be applied to decorating brush holders or personalising clothes! But then again.... if we eat good food like this; it will benefit us and beautify our outside in different ways! :)

BeneFit Eye Bright

I truly can not live without this product, I have purchased it over and over again and will continue to do so. Eye Bright is a light pink fat pencil that brightens the eye area for a wide awake look. I use this under my eyebrows, on the inner corners of my eye, under my eyes, waterline and sometimes the bridge of my nose. One pencil lasts me about 5 months, which is pretty good going! I particularly enjoy using this when I'm trying to avoid wearing heavy makeup, I don't like to use a powder highlighter on my eyes if I'm not wearing eyeshadow - so this is perfect.

It has a creamy texture, that is easily blended with fingers. It's so versatile and the fact that I don't need to use a brush, is a bonus! This is most certainly one of my HG staple products I use every day!

Price: £14.00

Have you used this? If so, what do you think about it and have you found any dupes for it?

Moving House!

Hello girls, those of you who watched my makeup storage video will know that I am moving house, it has been a hectic few days and it's not over yet... Normal updates will resume in a few days, please bare with me, feel free to leave me any requests if you want me to blog about anything particular. We are downsizing so I will be selling some of my stuff, keep your eye on My Treasure Closet for updates if you are interested.

I leave you with an image for a feel of how I want my dream house in the future to look like, we don't plan on living in the UK forever, somewhere exotic will be nice :) My favourite type of house would be a old rustic Greek style house with gorgeous climbing flowers all over it! What's yours?

I would wear something like the clothes featured running up and down the stairs... bliss!

Update on Project Clear Skin

It has been 2 weeks since I announced I was on project: clear skin, I said I would limit the amount of makeup I used to just 5 products which included no foundation or tinted moisturiser.

The 1st week I was eating healthily, wearing hardly any makeup and using honey.
The 2nd week I was eating healthily, wearing a moderate amount of makeup and not using honey.

The 1st week my skin was much clearer and I was actually feeling comfortable without any makeup with no new spots to report.
This week I reached out to the foundation as I had an outburst of spots on the sides of my face and I scar quite easily so I was having to cover up. I stopped using the honey as I had ran out, I'm wondering if this had anything to do with it or I got the spots because I started wearing foundation again?!
However the 2nd week was the end of my menstrual cycle, so more than likely they were hormonal or perhaps even stress related. I'm really not sure.

My problem is that once I see even the smallest spot I have to squeeze it, it's like I have some magnetic connection that I have no control over. Yesterday an underskin spot emerged just under my cheekbone which hurt SO bad. I squeezed it, but no joy, it was not squeezable. So, like an idiot I attacked it with a hot needle to burst it (I know this is wrong but, like I said I can't help it) and still no joy. So I had to put loads of salicylic acid on it to calm it down.

I'm just so fed up, I know if I relaxed and stopped picking, squeezing and attacking my spots they would be alot better. luckily for me, the honey is really helping diminish the scars. Currently I am sitting here typing this with honey slathered all over my face :)

What I need to do is choose a skincare routine and stick to it, I was enjoying using the Garnier Pro X range, but I really want to try the Luxtural range also. Or, do I just go back to Neal's Yard? Oh this is just too much!

Luxtural when Luxury meets Nature at the skin

Luxtural Skincare is created from pure Pacific Ocean rain - untouched by toxins, exotic extracts and other superior natural ingredients.

This range is rumoured to be favourites of Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu and Joy Bryant. This suggestion alone made me want to see what all the fuss is about. So, when I was approached by Luxtural I jumped at the chance of testing them out.

These are the 3 products which I have been sent and used in this order;

Mystique Fountain Facial Deep Hydration Rainy Mist 100ml $78.00
Silk Premonition Facial Deep Moisturising Anti Aging Lotion 40ml $150.00
Sophisticated Veil Facial Anti Aging Deep Moisturising Serum 35ml $186.00

My initial thoughts on this range is that it's very expensive compared to my target price range for skincare. The packaging is sleek, pretty and practical, I like the fact that the two of them have pump applicators for hygiene reasons. The fancy names such as mystique, silk and sophisticated may cause controversy as they are not the usual descriptive words that skincare companies use.

I have only used the products twice so far and the first thing I can say is I am pleasantly surprised by the scent of them; it has a hint of sweetness mixed with the smell of rain and flowers with some spicy extracts. The formulas are very light and easily absorbed into skin.

I will be doing a full review of the 3 products after a couple of weeks, I have never been so enticed by skincare products! My mission to see whether it's true that we get what you pay for has commenced. Have you heard of this brand? If so, what are your thoughts?

Made with love

I couldn't wait to wear my "Made with love" lipstick from the Mac CC collection...

Here's what it looks like:

It's a lustre, so it's quite sheer but still very pigmented and moist looking. This is the perfect coral colour for the summer, teamed with a tan and lots of bronzer, this will look "the bomb"!

I'm quite scared of brights normally, but this is very wearable unlike my shocking Nars Red Square. This is definitely going to be my summer staple. I will be rocking this on holiday, if I go!

Face: Tiny bit of BB skin foundation
Cheeks: Barry M bronzer, Nars Albatroos and Mac Gold Deposit msf.
Eyes: Mac Natural flare quad - the lightest gold all over lid and brow bone, darkest brown in crease and upper lash line. Mac Zoomlash mascara. UD Lucky 24/7 pencil on waterline.
Lips: Mac Made with love, BeneFit "Posh" lipliner.

What's your summer staple lip shade and what do you team it with?

My attempt at a blog sale..

Please click HERE to go to the sale! I wanted to keep my blog sales separate to this blog, as I don't want to bombard this blog with images, as I have lots of items that I will be adding.

Electric Natural Flare FOTD

Today I couldn't wait to get my hands on Natural Flare, I did this simple everyday look with a pop of colour... The shadows are very easily blended and very pigmented, however you will have to make sure to tap your brush properly to avoid fallout when using a brush. I used my fingers, so I was OK!

For some reason these colours bring out the golden green tones in my eyes... my eyes are weird, they change from brown to hazel, orange, yellow to green...

I accessorised with these earrings to bring out the turquoise...

Do you have Natural Flare or are you planning on getting it? How do you wear yours?

Today I had a gorgeous day, I took my hubby out shopping on his birthday and also ended up getting a few things for myself :)

Firstly I present to you "Natural Flare" eyeshadow quad from the CC collection by Mac. The whole collection looked amazing, I wanted everything but I had to be sensible. The quads all looked beautiful, but I love my golden earth tones and natural flare just screamed at me.

Once I swatched them, my jaw dropped, they are just so pretty, I love the glitter in them. they have a rustic edge which I like. It was £14, I think that's a fair price for four mineralised eye shadows. In my opinion these colours aren't easily duped. The orange gold is my favourite, it's super gorgeous!

I had a back to Mac ready so I asked my hubby to pick me a lipstick, first he went for "Fresh Brew" but I already had that, then he looked at "Made with love" from the CC collection and was like "try that" I thought it was too bright, but it's actually not. It's a lustre, so it's quite sheer. It's a perfect coral shade with an ever so slight blue tinge to it.

Everything from CC looked fabulous, I didn't have much time to swatch everything, but I definitely want more :) the 131 brush looked OK, I don't think it's as big as what I expected though. Colour Crafted lipstick was nice, I nearly got that, which is a bright nude pink but I decided I have too many nudes. Will keep you updated with my thoughts!

I also managed to snap Nars Albatross from a blog sale recently, it's the perfect highlighter for your upper cheekbones and brow bone. I have been wearing it everyday since I got it. It's like a pressed version of Mac's Vanilla pigment.

I had some French Connection vouchers, so again I let my hubby choose for me :) he's so cute! He picked this gorgeous print top! I love it, it looks sooo lovely on!

We spent AGES in Hollister! I seriously wanted everything, I love the relaxed surfer style! I like to dress up but I also like to dress down! In the end we chose this turquoise tight top which looks amazing on! Love it! My hubby got quite a few things which he looks amazingly hot in!

Oh and Accessorize is on sale everybody! I picked up these earrings...

....and these earrings with the necklace to match!

Review: Garnier Favourites

It's been a while now since the Garnier event, and I have put my goodies to the test! I thought I would share with you my most favoured products so far that are definately worth an honourable mention!

These weren't in the goodie bag, they were handed to me from one of the counters as I was interested in them. I'm 24 and think it's about time I try to prevent wrinkles from forming. I wouldn't recommend this to people with oily skin. My skin type is dry and sensitive. I have been using this duo for over a week now and I surprisingly haven't broken out - result!

The day cream has an SPF factor of 20 and is effective against UVA. This is highly important for me as our face needs to be protected from the sun at all times! The texture of this cream is very creamy and moisturising, the scent is quite pleasant. Half a pump is enough for the whole face. A whole pump really makes the face look greasy!

The intensive night cream is also highly moisturising and again has the same pleasant scent, a whole pump of this is sufficient. It really feels like a good bedtime treat! I love the packaging of these - the pumps really clever as I hate dipping my hand into pots for hygiene reasons!

This is some amazing stuff, it's a really grainy exfoliator that lathers up really well! Enough said!
I love it and will keep repurchasing it forever, it has a gorgeous fruity scent and I love the yellow packaging, perfect to brighten my day!

I have been using this to take off my makeup by pumping it onto a cotton round, it's a great substitute for my Khiel's and L'occitane sensitive skin makeup remover. I actually prefer this as it's cheaper and I prefer the packaging. This has become a real must have for me!

Oh my! Me and my hubby have gone crazy over this, it's one of the best creams we have used, best of all it doesn't have a strong scent that will interfere with your perfume. It's a moisturising milk that is supposed to lock in moisture - which it absolutely does!

I have been loving this face wash, my skin is too dry and sensitive to use the Pure Active range as a whole, but I can get away with using this! It has 2% salicylic acid in it which makes it a real tingly face wash to unclog my pores! The hubby has also been using this he is impressed too!

Honest Scrap Tag

My apologies for the delay of this post, I have been tagged by a few people and I have finally got around to doing this! The deal is that I reveal 10 facts about myself that you don't know about. It's a fun tag and have really enjoyed reading other responses, so... here's mine;

1) I am very punctual, being on time is a major deal for me, I can't stand people who make me wait! If I'm late by 5 minutes I start sweating and have a mini panic attack!

2) When putting the food shopping on the conveyor belt, I have to make sure that all items are strategically placed in a neat and tidy order. People who chuck their stuff on randomly make me look at them in horror. :)

3) I can't stand dry hands, it makes me feel really queasy and disgusting and thought of it makes me clench my fist.

4) I am of Turkish origin, most of my family are from Bursa, which is in the Marmara region of Turkey and was the first Ottoman state. However, some of my great gran parents are of Bulgarian and / or Greek descent. I also think we have some kind of Mongolian in us, as many from our family also look Chinese. The rest is unknown, I have enquired deeper, but everybody just looks at me with a blank face.

5) I am quite obsessed with gift wrapping, everything has to be perfect or I'll scrunch it up and start again, there's nothing more frustrating than a badly wrapped gift! :)

6) I can't stand fresh tomato's, the seeds make me shiver.

7) As a child, I was rather annoying, I was a spoilt little so and so! Ughhh I cant stand spoilt kids!

8) Me an my hubby read every single ingredient in our food at the supermarket. We don't eat processed food, additives, artificial flavours and sweeteners and only eat halal food which means that we have to make sure our food is suitable for vegetarians.

9) I love cooking, I really enjoy combining flavours and textures, but more importantly I'm crazy about the presentation of food, I think if I was on "Come dine with me" I would be the perfect host. I even own a napkin folding book!

10) I discovered the wonders of makeup tutorials on YouTube whilst trying to find out towel folding techniques - that's how crazy I am :)

FOTN and Outfit

Project clear skin has been going immensely well, my skin is looking better for not wearing foundation or tinted moisturiser on a daily basis, I am not pulling and tugging at my skin every night to get the "slap" off. I feel much better for it! The honey has been amazing on my skin, I don't actually feel uncomfortable not wearing makeup anymore, the texture and scars are improving drastically - I have had no new spots. I also don't need to over moisturise my skin anymore as the honey is making it feel hydrated - therefore it's preventing me from getting tiny pimples on my cheeks.

I am currently using Rowse pure honey in a squeeze tub - no mess!

I must also stress that I have been on a SUPER healthy diet and exercising regularly, so basically all of these changes have had a positive impact!

Last night I went out as it was a special night, and I needed "smokey eyes", I refused to go out without my "slap" :) FYI: These photos were taken when we got back home!

Here's what I wore on my face:

BB Tinted moisturiser - Only a teeny tiny bit, usually I would use 3X this amount!
Boing concealer only under the eyes.
Mac msf natural applied with 187 brush.
Nars Laguna applied with 187 brush.
Nars Sertao as blush.

I would never normally use a 187 to apply my msf or Laguna, but I wanted a light application for a natural look. I would usually use my 134, I have to say I was impressed, as it didn't look "too much", I will be pulling this trick more often!

On my eyes I wore:

All shadows from Urban Decay book of shadows!

Mayhem all over the lid and lower lashline, Perversion in the crease and Grifter on inner corners. (Mayhem is my favourite colour from the book of shadows)

Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero, on upper and lower lashline and Mac Zoomlash mascara.

On the lips I wore, Gosh Darling lipstick, and a dab of Too faced lip injection extreme teamed with L'oreal Cappuccino lipliner.

And finally here's what I wore....

Dress/top: Zara
Leggings: New Look
Belt: Armani Exchange
Shoes: New Look
Clutch: Vintage
Earrings: DP

My outfit was not too summery as we are now having a phase of "crap" weather. I felt really comfortable in what i was wearing, my figure feels much more "me" as opposed to the uncomfortable bloated feeling I had a few weeks ago, please note: I am not on some crazy diet, but I have eliminated all junk and am eating 3 good meals and healthy snacks everyday. I haven't actually weighed myself yet but my clothes aren't as tight anymore which is highly satisfying! xXx
