The packaging is always something interesting when it comes to Benefit, I love their creativity and confidence in colour choices.

Here is what the applicators look like..

Here are the swatches of all 4 products dabbed onto the back of my hand.

GIRL MEETS PEARL - This is a natural glow giving enhancer that isn't too in your face. When swatched it looks quite pink toned but then once blended turns to a golden hue. I have been using it to highlight the high points of my face and it does a brilliant job of enhancing them without looking fake.

POSIE TINT - I LOVED Benetint and I remember when this first launched years ago, the consistency is much thicker so it's easier to work with and the colour is also much more forgiving. It's a beautiful Barbie pink that can be used on your cheeks and your lips for a light flushed stain. You can layer it up for more of an impact if you desire. I like to wear it on my cheeks in the Summer the most.

HIGH BEAM - This is a favourite of mine, I have been using it for years and wouldn't be without it. It's a pale frosty pink that really gives a brightening and glowy effect when applied to the tops of your cheekbones. I did a comparison a while ago on my favourite highlighters, click HERE to see the post.

ERASE PASTE - I was hesitant to try this when it first came out as I thought it would be quite cakey but it actually isn't, it's rather lightweight and peach toned which makes it ideal for use under the eyes. I do like it, but I'm not in love with it. It's only available in shade 02 in the kit which luckily is perfect for me.

Overall if you are interested in some of these products, then this little kit is a great way to try them out without forking out the full price for each individual item. A little goes a long way so most of them will last you forever anyway. However, I wish there was an option to get either a lighter or darker concealer with the kit as not everyone will fit into shade 02.

Disclaimer: This kit was sent to me for consideration for review, I was not paid for this post. Honest opinion as always!

Celebrating..

Thank you SO much for your beautiful comments in my last post about baby bubbles. if you haven't read it, I'm 12 weeks and 5 days pregnant! :)

We have just got home from a nice meal where we celebrated our wonderful news after the scan. Here's what I wore, I actually felt good today and that has been the complete opposite of what I have been feeling the past few weeks.

All smiles!

I straightened my hair with my GHD's. The cut looks different as I had it cut just before I went to Tunisia. My hair has been growing super fast thanks to the pregnancy, so I didn't feel guilty chopping off a much needed 3 inches.

I rocked black eyeliner on the rims of my eye and also used silver on my lid which is something I never do but should do more often.

On my face I am wearing:
  • Bourjois 10hr sleep effect foundation mixed with Mac face and body.
  • Benefit Erase Paste
  • Mac Studio finish concealer
  • Benefit Hoola

My skin has been going a bit mental due to the hormones, I have been getting spots mainly on my cheek area, they are fading but keep doing unexpected and uninvited return visits. The Clinique 3 step system I recently switched back to is doing a good job eliminating them and keeping my skin clear and smooth as it's oilier than normal.

On my eyes I am wearing:

  • 'Bullit' (silver) e/s from Bee luscious garden girl palette on the lid.
  • Mac 'Satin Taupe' and 'Brun' e/s on the crease.
  • Shu Uemera painting liner in black on upper lash line with Urban Decay 'Zero' 24/7 pencil smudged over the top and on the waterline.
  • Dior Extase mascara.
  • Ardell 'Demi Wispies' false lashes.
  • Mac 'Brun' & 'Cork' e/s lightly on brows.

On my lips:

  • L'oreal 'Cappuccino' lipliner
  • Mac 'Innocence Beware' lipstick
I was sent some Ardell lashes to try a few weeks ago and haven't been able to due to my lack of energy, tonight I was finally able to test out the 'Demi Wispies' and I love them. Usually when I apply false lashes which is about twice a year, I take them right off as they feel too heavy and just piss me off in general. These Ardell Demi Wispies, were so lightweight, I didn't have to cut them and they look so natural, I could easily wear them everyday.

Here's the obligatory shot of the eyes closed! :)

Here's the outfit I wore, just something casual with a slight smart twist. You may realise I am looking thinner than usual, that's because I lost 3kg (half a stone) due to the morning (all day) sickness during the past few weeks. I have started eating properly the past few days and I think things are almost back to normal.

BUMP WATCH!

At times I think I am massive and sometimes I think I'm tiny, it all depends on the time of day and what I am wearing. There's a tiny pooch that is popping out and it just looks like I am bloated. :) My twaistline is disappearing and I am already thinking about workout routines for after the birth. Currently I weigh 57kg and am 164cm tall which is all normal.
I have been using plenty of things on my belly and will do a separate post on it.

Everyone tells me I look different or fresh and I tell them it's new "fresh" makeup, do you notice when people are pregnant? Long post I know, I just had so much to update you on! X

Baby bubbles is on the way..

Finally my exciting news!! I'm 12 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Now you know the reason for the lack of posts, I was suffering from morning sickness and tiredness, but things seem to be normalising now. :) My due date is the 1st of October!! *Yay* We are so over the moon, me and my husband haven't been able to stop smiling. :)

Today I had my 1st scan and it was amazing, we were able to see the hands and everything in detail, the baby had its legs crossed so we couldn't even guess the sex. Thank god everything is normal and I can now announce it to the world. Here are a few pictures from the scan.

It looks like it's smiling in this picture.. :)

It's about 6cm at the moment..

Until next time, hugs and kisses from me and baby bubbles! xXx

Tali Talks.. Spring Favourites

Hi everyone, it's Tali from the old The Gloss Goss blog! Even though I deleted my blogs (permanently I'm afraid) I'm still good friends with a few of your favorite UK bloggers. Over dinner last week they brought up the idea of me guest blogging every once in a while. I didn't intend to but they kept going on and on about it.. I couldn't eat my Nandos in peace! So I agreed and every season I'll try do a small post here on the amazing Bubblegarm blog.. keep the ladies happy.

Spring Favourites
Peach/Coral lipstick- I seem to have a bit of an addiction. In my defence they are not all the same if you look very closely! Some have.. err shimmer and some don't!
My favourite 4 right now are all MAC. Shy Girl, Ravishing, Jazzed & Costa Chic.. seriously gorgeous shades.
I have noticed that they do look completely different on everyone. It all depends on the color of your lips and complexion to start with.. but it's safe to say these are a right in the medium to dark-tan skincolor comfort zone.
Above is what I wore today.. Costa Chic!

Clinique skincare- Thanks to a Bubblegarm post, I gave it a go when I broke out badly using a new foundation. It really saved my skin and fast. I saw results in hours! The toner is a little bit strong for 2x daily use as suggested but it did work wonders on my skin.
They do fantastic small sized sets for £20 where you get a facial wash, toner and moisturizer for your skin type. A perfect way to try the brand or to get some breakout relief. I do like and prefer natural products.. but as Muhsine once said, sometimes natural is not enough!

Chan Luu Wrap Bracelets- There are just so many options to chose from. Click here to see the official website. Unfortunately they are hard to find and over-priced in Europe (I got mine from the US) but keep your eyes open as I have seen them and have a feeling they will be a hit here too.
I like how they can be worn alone or mixed in with pretty much anything else you have in your collection.
I went for the rose gold on black wrap a few weeks ago and then was given a turquoise on brown leather wrap as a gift. <3

Also loving.. L'Oreal Voluminous mascara, Dior Matte bronzer, Australian Organics body wash & shampoo, coconut water, Nandos with the girls, jewellery shopping with Muhsine..Clinique skincare, Nars Super Orgasm lipgloss, peach lipstick, Dior Miss Cherie perfume, H&M Spring Collection & the London sunshine!

That's it for now! Enjoy Spring! :)

Yahnili Makarna, my favourite meal!

This evening I cooked 'Yahnili makarna/magarina' a lovely Turkish Cypriot meal for me and my husband which happens to be both of our favourites. It's the bestest EVER!! The 'Yahni' is the sauce and the 'makarna' is the pasta, it's healthy and relatively easy to make.

I have to let you all in on the recipe as it's just amazing! Here's my way of making it.

YOU WILL NEED:
  • Cubed chicken pieces (I used 2 breast pieces)
  • Cubed onions (I used 2)
  • 1 Cubed tomato
  • Tomato paste
  • Tinned plum tomato
  • Olive oil
  • 1 and a half fresh Lemons
  • Pasta
  • Halloumi
  • Dried mint
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Water

Here we go!

  • 1) Fry the onions until golden.
  • 2) Add your chicken and fry them until cooked.
  • 3) Add your cubed tomato and tomato paste.
  • 4) Fry for a few minutes

  • 5) Add your tinned plum tomato (I squash mine as I'm adding it).
  • 6) Add salt to season and stir for a couple of minutes.
  • 7) Add cold water until the whole pot is almost covered.
  • 8) Squeeze 1 and a half lemons or what you desire.

After the yahni has come to boiling point you should turn the heat down and leave to simmer for about 1 hour, keep stirring and tasting it as you go along. Add more salt, lemon juice or water until the perfect flavour is achieved. It should taste beautiful, all the juices of the tomato, chicken and lemon should be combined with the salt to deliver a beautiful flavoursome kick.

Next prepare the halloumi cheese..

You should start to cook your pasta about 15 minutes before you wish to serve.

TO SERVE:

Please note that you will need a plate that is deep enough to hold the juice.

  • A) Sprinkle the halloumi mixture onto a plate.
  • B) Add the pasta and sprinkle some more of the halloumi mixture.
  • C) Add the 'Yahni' with plenty of juice.
  • D) Sprinkle a last dose of the halloumi mixture.

Enjoy! Afiyet Olsun, Bon Appetit!

Let me know if you give it a go!

Impassioned..

Mac describes this lipstick shade as "Amped-up fuchsia".

I describe it as a neon pink toned coral with a slight milky tinge to it. In certain lights it looks brighter and more vivid than it actually is, at times it has a red tone to it and at times it looks more pink. It's an interesting shade that oozes attention.

The finish is an Amplified Creme.

Here's a swatch..

I wore it today and almost everyone complimented me on it, I on the other hand felt like I needed to cover my mouth as it just felt TOO bright. I do like it on me, it's just that I'm not used to it..It's the perfect shade to update your collection with if you are into bright lips for summer.

Here's what I am wearing today:

FACE:
Mac Face & Body foundation (C3) set with Bare Minerals (Medium beige)
CONCEALER: Mac studio finish (NC30) and YSL touche eclat
CHEEKS: Dior matte bronzer shade 02
EYES: Mac "Brule" e/s on the entire lid, Mac 'Femme Fi" to highlight. L'oreal Voluminous mascara,
LIPS: Mac "Impassioned" lipstick

How do you feel about "Impassioned"?

Dinner with the girls!

Today I met up with some of the girls for dinner who happen to be some of my favourite bloggers, here are a few pictures to share!

I had such a lovely evening and hope to do it again soon, thanks girls! :)

Zara of MouldyFruit and Yinka of Vex in the City

Tali
of The Gloss Goss and Moi!

Tali has deleted her blog which I am super annoyed about, I genuinely hope she does return, but in the meantime I am in the process of trying to force her to do a guest post on my blog as I really miss her posts. :(

I obviously picked up a little something, I got 'Impassioned' lipstick by Mac and another palette and got these uber gorgeous earrings from Topshop.

Perfect evening to end the working day! How was your day? Hope it was a good one!

Primark finds and Peanut makes an appearance..

This morning I made a very quick dash to Primark to grab some tights and also found these gorgeous items!

I love these teal leather flat gladiator sandals, they are perfect for summer and I can't wait to rock them.

These faux suede black wedges were perfect for work at £6 down from £12.

This headband looked adorable and for £1.50 you can't go wrong. I actually wore it all day! :)

I had to buy a canvas bag to stash my finds in..

This one was my favourite, doesn't it look cool?

And... Peanut the apple of my eye wanted to show you how cute he looks whilst sleeping! :)

Mwaaaah!
