Maxi skirts, white lace and hats..

We have been having some gorgeous weather here in London and here are a few outfits I wore over the past few days!

Yesterday I wore this ensemble which included a white maxi skirt!

I got it on Friday from H&M for £19.99. I contemplated on getting it as it's high waisted and wasn't sure how it would work with a pregnant belly but actually it looks fine and there is plenty of room for growth.

I added some summery earrings to complete the look.

I also got a plain black cotton maxi skirt from H&M (£12.99) which I teamed with lime green and a statement necklace.

As you can see I have a tiny problem with shopping. I also spotted this white lace/broderie anglaise blazer that had to be mine. (H&M - £29.99)

And these hats! :)

I'm not usually a hat person, (I used to be) but am liking that I have to do nothing to my hair!! Here I'm just wearing a plain black cotton dress teamed with a loose belt and sandals.

Next to me is Ema (on the left) and Layla (on the right) which are my sister-in-laws gorgeous daughters. Ema thinks I'm having a boy, and Layla says I'm having a girl and that I should name her Baby Annabelle or Glitzy lol. :) I made Ema wear the other hat as the blue ribbon matched her dress perfectly.

Have you been rocking maxi skirts, white lace and hats?

Until next time.... x X x

Chit Chat..

Today I skimped on the eye makeup, it was just too hot to be layering on tons of shadow. I went for black winged liner to keep it simple. Today is Tuesday by the way but it's 2 o clock in the morning so technically it's Wednesday now... Uhhh there isn't enough hours in the day!

I'm always in a rush before I leave the house so hardly ever end up taking photos with "fresh" makeup, keeping with the theme these photos were taken about 12 hours after application and a hard days work hence why I look so tired. But as you can see the eyeliner is still in tact.

Here's what I'm wearing:

  • FACE: Kiehl's tinted moisturiser (medium) Mac studio finish concealer (NC30)
  • CHEEKS: Benefit Hoola, Prestige Glam tan and Mac Vanilla pigment to highlight.
  • EYES: Shu Uemera painting liner (black) L'oreal Voluminous mascara, Mac vanilla pigment to highlight.
  • Lips: Nothing, it all rubbed off! But I did have Mac Lazy Day lipstick on top of a lipliner. :(

Note: I do like the Shu Uemera painting liner it just annoys me as when I apply it it immedietly transfers to my upper eyelid as it doesn't dry quick enough, I sometimes pat it with some 'Carbon' e/s by Mac to set it but the same thing happens. I think it's just the shape of my eyes, I powdered my eyelids, and tried using a base and it still doesn't stay put until it's properly dry which takes about 5 mintues. Although once it's set and dry it aint movin', it lasts all day with the same instense black pigment. Ehh you win some you lose some!

My belly kind of looks the same as it did a couple of weeks ago, I still don't even look pregnant unless I'm wearing a white horizontally striped top :) I'm just over 16 weeks / 4 months now and am slowly starting to get my energy back and rekindling my love for homemade Turkish food!

Today I realised I don't own a white shimmery colour to highlight the inner corners of my eyes, I immediately fixed that problem by purchasing Mac 'Crystal Avalanche' eyeshadow which is a veluxe pearl. 'Crystal Avalanche' won over 'Shroom', 'Phloof' and 'White Frost' as the texture is much softer and the colour was as bright as I wanted it to be. See a swatch below.

I don't know what's wrong lately with mascaras but anything I use doesn't give me the effect I desire. It just looks dry and clumpy ewwwww! My favourite L'oreal voluminous isn't performing as well as it used to and of course I had to fix that problem too. I repurchased the Mac Zoom Fast Lash mascara as I really enjoyed using it the last time I had it.

Are you rocking winged eyeliner in the heat, do you own a shimmery white eyeshadow and are you having problems with your mascaras?

Chit Chat over, I can go on forever but it's getting late and I need my beauty sleep! :)

Surf Baby!

Another beachy collection from Mac! *Hooray*

Lately I have been skipping many of the new items from the new Mac collections as they just don't seem to have the wow factor for me personally. 'Quite Cute' that's out at the moment is exactly that quite cute and nothing special in my opinion. Sorry if I am breaking anyones heart! :)

I love the limited edition Summer collections that Mac do, Last year 'To The Beach' was a big hit with me as was 'Style Warriors' from the previous year. This year the collection is called 'Surf Baby' which is influened by the cool beachy surfer style and is right up my street!

Here's one of the promo images... I want to see more!

It's a massive collection, just like it should be!!! I actually really like the packaging it's totally cool! I am loving the white with a hint of yellow and the floral pattern.

I am really excited for this collection are you?

Surf Baby is available May - June 2011.

Flash Cosmic..

I am in love with Maybelline's express finish diamond glitter polish in 'Flash Cosmic' it's an iridescent dual tone glitter that reminds me of the semi precious stone in 'Opal', it also looks similar to Mac's 'Vellum' eye shadow. Today I layered it with Barry M's 161 (Vivid Purple) and here's the effect it achieved. The glitter really stands out with a darker colour, yes I am 26 and not 16 but I still love me some glitter in moderation and I really like my fun nails! :)

I recently also picked up OPI 'Strawberry Margarita' which is a lovely bright pink, I have this on my toes with 'Flash Cosmic' layered over the top and it looks AMAZING, you can't really see the glitter it just gives a hint of a blue shine.

Speaking of pink, like my new ironing board cover? £3 from Primark.

It seems I have luck when it comes to finding the odd piece of maternity clothing, I found this beautiful flowy top in the River Island Sale, it was a steal at £12 marked down from £35. I mean how maternal is it? and RI don't even have a maternity range.

I also got this dress which has a drawstring right under the bust making it perfect for me during the Summer. It was £12.99 from H&M. I LOVE the print, it's so ditsy and feminine.

My shopping trips are never quite complete if I haven't purchased some earrings, these ones were from Accessorize at £10. Loving the bronze with the silver!

And clearly I needed some turquoise flower studs, again from Accessorize at £5.

Although I think I have to break the tradition of my earring addiction as I clearly have no more space in my earring drawer! Hmmmmm...

Anyway, moving on and still on the subject of accessories, I picked up a hippy hairband from Topshop.

I also want to say a huge thank you to the Body Shop who kindly sent me a hamper full of things that will be useful to me during my pregnancy. They included foot soak, soothing leg gel, cocoa butter a sleeping mist and much more. I have a few essentials of my own and will have to do a 'Bubblegarm's Pregnancy Essentials' post nearer the end of my pregnancy as a guide for any new mums to be.

I am now 15 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and my belly still just looks bloated, I can't wait to actually have a big pregnant belly! I am convinced I can feel the baby move, it feels like tiny waves and little bubbles and it only happens at night when I am relaxed just before I sleep. Until next time kisses from me and baby bubbles. xXx

14 Weeks Pregnancy Update..

This week the baby has more defined facial features, it can now turn its head and wrinkle its brow and may even be sucking its thumb. It can now respond to external stimulus by actually moving away when the doctor feels the abdomen. The baby is now roughly 9cm and weighs around 60g.

My baby bump is a little more prominent but people still can't actually tell I'm pregnant, they just assume I'm a little chubby. I have been wearing my 'Baby on board' badge, and 1 person did give me their seat on the tube! *hooray*

I have been taking the Pregnacare vitabiotics supplement since I found out I was pregnant for those who are wondering. It contains all the essential vitamins and folic acid. I sometimes take their omega 3 tablets too. Currently my eating is still a bit crap, but it's improving. I have been put off every single strong smell with the most disgusting scent being fish *bleuuuuurghhh* I go for anything plain and just a whole bunch of fruit. Fruit is the best.

I have been rubbing all sorts on my belly ranging from 'Body Shop' body butters, Neal's Yard 'Mothers Balm', Cocoa Butter 'Miracle oil' as well as 'Bio oil' all to keep my tender bits moisturised and supple in a bid to avoid stretch marks, so far so good but it's still very early days.

The Body Shop 'Body Butters' have been my favourite to rub all over my body, I stocked up in the Xmas sale and have almost every variation. I love how thick and moisturising the consistency is.

However, my absolute FAVOURITE which I have been rubbing over my belly, breasts and thigh area is the Neal's Yard 'Mothers Balm'.

It's a thick balm which is easily absorbed into the skin, it does leave a slight oily residue but that just lets me know how moisturising it is. I have read a few reviews that anyone who has used this whilst pregnant never got stetch marks so I wanted to put it to the test.

It contains coconut, apricot, beeswax, almond, and macadamia oil all of which is 100% organic. All good then, it costs just under £20 for 120ml which is a little expensive but worth it if it REALLY does keep me stretch mark free. Also a little goes a long way so it does last quite a bit.

I went to the Topshop maternity section to be disappointed and ended up finding this gorgeous green flowy top from their standard range. It will work wonderful on my bump during the summer with skinny jeans, and when I'm bump free with a nice waist belt. Price: £25

I spied these beautiful short wedge leather sandals also in Topshop and fell in love within a second. I have so many flat sandals but wanted one with a slight wedge for extra support and a tiny bit of height. The wooden wedge makes it ideal for causal outfits yet still summery and boho chic to go with glam outfits too.

The front panel is rather large which makes it quite interesting and cool in my opinion, I wore them today and can't even explain how comfortable they are, there's nothing to dig into the sides of your feet making it PERFECT for a pregnant lady who's feet may swell up. FYI: They look good with skinny jeans or a skirt. Price £45

I wont be doing pregnancy updates each week, just when I feel like it. Speak soon and enjoy the rest of the weekend! :) x X x
